Oh, hi there, Anthony here. Nice to meet you.
My full name is Anthony James Mortensen but most people refer to me by just my birth surname (which isn't Scandinavian) or shorten my name to Tony or Ant. I never used to like being called the latter (only one person ever got away with it) but now, in his honour, I don't mind it.
I'm 36 years young but my brain sometimes likes to tell me I'm 21. I wish I was but I'm not. I'm now over the big 3-0 mark and that still scares the living crap out of me.
I'm originally from Liverpool, which is a city in the North of England for those who have no idea where it is, but I moved to Copenhagen in June 2009 and I haven't looked back since. I absolutely adore it here and I don't EVER want to leave the wonderful city that I now call my home.
Many moons ago, I studied Nursing and Medical Science at university, and I used to work as a nurse in Skadestuen (which, for those who don't know, is the Danish equivalent of A&E in the UK or ER in the US) at one of the local hospitals. It was a brilliant job with absolutely awesome people and, even though it can get a bit gory at times, I loved it. I didn't mind the pressure of telling some poor soul that their loved one had sadly passed away either which, sadly, usually happens on a regular basis in A&E.
I now work as a trainee hairstylist, which I took on after my husband died and, whilst it's not as full-on as working in a hospital, I still enjoy it.

My life either revolves around my job or football. I support Tranmere Rovers FC (for all my sins) and the mighty FC Copenhagen. I don't get to many Tranmere Rovers matches though, since I live in Denmark, so I enjoy spending most of my weekends at the Parken (none of this Telia Parken shite, thanks!) cheering on the team I support with people I admire the most and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm currently single. I've been in two relationships but the best years of my life were spent with my wonderful husband and soulmate, Owen. We were together for just over fourteen years, married for eight, and our relationship was strong through everything that was thrown at us. And we went through it all: car crashes, heart scares, stabbings, pissing in the garden (don't ask), other medical emergencies and being assaulted just for being who we were and what we were. Sadly, the latter came all too sudden for Owen who, having sustained massive head injuries and mild brain damage after being knocked off his bike in a hit-and-run crash in 2014, sustained further brain damage after being violently assaulted in the summer of 2017. One punch rendered him unconscious. He sadly never recovered and his life-support was switched off three days later. He was just 35 years old and had so much to live for. I still miss him terribly and it's still going to take a while for me to get used to him not being around.

Things I like include Tranmere Rovers FC, FC Copenhagen, the Danish national football team, Christian Eriksen, St. Helens RLFC, golf, tennis, vodka, swearing (usually on a regular basis in both English AND Danish), my iPod, Game Of Thrones, Lady Gaga, quoting random lines from movies, innuendo, the Eurovision Song Contest and being with family and friends.
Things I dislike include Liverpool FC (I support Everton on Merseyside derby days), Chelsea FC, Brøndby IF (AKA that lot from the arse-end of Copenhagen), the England national football team, Wigan Warriors RLFC, referees in various sports, crap Danish beer, homophobic wankers and racist arseholes.
